What is the most excellent 5/5 short horror film of all time? The answer to that is easy: Vicious by Oliver Park. The short film posted on YouTube in 2019 has been hailed even by Buzzfeed as one of the scariest short films ever created. I agree with them. Vicious is a fantastic example of what short horror films can be. It has all the suspense and scare of a full-length motion picture. The acting is outstanding, and the untold, as in what's off the page, is just as important as what's on the page.

The movie uses classic horror situations, a recently deceased friend, demons, a girl recently living alone, a creepy setting, great lighting, and an array of camera and movie techniques that keep you feeling locked into the perspective and terrified about what's around the next corner.

Director/ Writer Oliver Park pulls off some top-notch movie-making in just 12 minutes. I'll be honest: this is not only the best short horror film I've ever seen, it's also one of the best short films of any genre, period.

The storytelling with the camera in this short movie is superior to most full-length films. Once the tension builds, this film keeps you on the edge of your seat. If you are a horror fan, this film will be looked back on like Texas Chainsaw's short films. If you are interested in horror filmmaking, take notes. If you love horror films, enjoy the ride.

The film also looks like they spent a million on production; lighting, POV, and special effects are all used to make you feel like you are watching a high-quality professional film. It's a must-watch:
